Bye bye Jess hello shooting range! - Sat

Sat 11th Oct 2014
Our last day with Jess and we think she was quite pleased that it was the last time she had to put her bed away! Even though she loves Priscilla. She then made me try on her Drindle !!!! What do I look like! David wanted to put it on and run through the grass! but Jess & I wouldn't let him!!!! Donald our Dutch friend on the campsite very kindly came over and signed the forms that we need to renew David's drivers licence (things like this are not easy when you are travelling for so long and are Australian) as we have to send them back with Jess. Got the bus outside the campsite into Lautenbrunnen village - I took all the luggage to The Horner Pub while David & Jess went to buy the train ticket through to Zurich Airport. At the pub we had a beer and lunch (Mum would have been horrified at all the sauce bottles on the table! - how common! But we loved the choice) the weather report here is so hard to read as we are in a valley and the weather station is on top of the mountain! Said our goodbyes to our Jess at Lautenbrunnen train station  - wasn't tooooo bad as we know we will see her soon. We then walked back along the valley and couldn't believe the sound we were hearing? Asked a few people and they said it must be jets or ice cracking!!!! We kept walking and followed the sound that was ricocheting around the valley (an astounding noise that we hadn't heard before) and as usual, being nosey, this took us up a path into a shooting hut/club. Couldn't believe we were welcomed in and given earmuffs and were introduced to a man who spoke English and explained what is was all about. He pointed out the shooter who was kneeling who is a very young Swiss champion. Could not believe the noise even though we had earmuffs on! Stayed watching for a while and was impressed by the different guns and stances that were being used. David was a bit upset as he wanted a go!!!!! Got back to Priscilla after having said our goodbyes to Donald and his wife who are returning to their home in Holland tomorrow. They were lovely enough to give us a homemade wooden souvenir from Switzerland that we will try to sneak back to Australia. Before our dinner we sat outside and watched!!!!!!! 15!!!!!!!! Base Jumpers come down right in front of the campsite - exactly where the guy had jumped from and crashed yesterday! We enclosed ourselves in Priscilla and it was strange that it was again just the two of us. We miss our Jess and the ritual of her putting her bed up! Xxxxxx Miss her xxxxxx
