Set off from Albarracin at 10am after a great nights sleep. This area is popular for bouldering (Jess you will remember this from Halls Gap). A windy pine forest drive followed by some areas with small patches of snow! As we headed for Cuenca. I must be getting on David's nerves as we went really high then came down the mountain and the whole time I am hanging on telling him to watch his side as deep gullies! Spectacular drive and since we left have seen no cars. Coffee stop on the side of a lake la Trobe. Amazing massive and very jade in colour could be in Canada! Next part of the drive was indescribable and no pictures could do it justice.the road hugged the sides of the mountains with sear drops on either side. Plenty of viewing points to stop at as I didn't want David to take his eyes off the road!!!!! One view point was Ventano del Diablo - wow!! Carried on down and passed Cuenca and headed east towards Madrid. Now a major road (still with no traffic!) through vast areas of arable farming land.Arrived in our destination Aranjuez and drove through town which has a Palace and looks like Versailles !!!!! Campsite is amongst the royal gardens! May stay here for a week as a base to explore Madrid and Toledo. Must just say how wonderful David is when we approach major cities - I just pooh my pants trying to read the map and David is so good at getting his bearings even while driving! What would I do without him! And to top it all when we had had a walk around the campsite he then cooked our evening meal! Another great day and also had a quick catch up with Jane and Laura in L'Estartit xxxxx
