Got 3 cups out to make tea
this morning! Another tear as realised again Jess has now left us L
so to take our minds off it we got stuck into the gardens of Jane’s Apartments.
It was a very bright sunny day but the wind still a little bit chilly. David
cut all the hedges then helped me with all the garden beds and then we mowed
all the lawn. It was a very rewarding job. Laura sanded down one of the balcony
railings although she shouldn’t be doing anything as her back is still really
bad. In between jobs we went for coffee in the Santa Anna (Town Square) and met
up with Ansell again (he is Gambian and we met him last Sunday at the BBQ). It
was funny as David had said to him “Hope you don’t think I’m rude - but you are
THE blackest man I’ve ever seen!” This is a running joke now. We enjoyed
baguettes/white asparagus with homemade mayonnaise for lunch. It was great to
do some jobs after so long! And we spent the whole day in the garden. David
called his Mum & Dad and they were pleased to hear his voice. Cannot
believe the heat in Perth - everyone is still complaining it is so hot. Don’t get jealous Mum I will Skype you soon
(let’s try the weekend). After much needed showers and hair washes Jane took us
up the hill to Teresa and Eduard’s for a very delicious confit duck dinner
(they drive to France to buy it in tins!) We spent the evening watching slide
show pictures off all the places they have been and adding more towns to visit
to our lists! At this rate it will take about a year to see all of Spain that
we want to! Eduard made the most delicious gin and tonics and Teresa showed me
all her crafts. She loves cross stich/patchwork and lace making - OMG it was
amazing - all those bobbins! She is very clever (Trace you would have loved to
see it). Another late night - bed about midnight.
