Jane went back to work
today so she dropped us off up the hill to get Priscilla (as it was raining).
We drove into Torroella de Montgri to Caravaning de Montgri and they checked
Priscilla’s windscreen wash which turned out to be a broken motor. They then
looked at the gas hot water system which turned out to be fine-it was us being
cautious as when we used the water heater on gas the first time, when no mains
available, there was a funny electrical burning smell-it was just because it
hadn’t been used for ages. The bill only came to E42 which Dolphin are going to
reimburse us for as Priscilla is under warranty. We also got the hazard board
for on the back of the bikes. We then parked in the town and had a walk around.
We had Xuichu’s (the best custard doughnuts ever that I used to eat every day
when I lived here!) It was market day so stocked up on fruit & veg. We then
went into “Orange” (mobile phone Company) and got a Spanish sim card so we now
have a mobile number for emergencies. Called into a huge supermarket called
Carrefour and picked up groceries as I had offered to cook the meal tonight for
us, Jane & Laura. Spent a lovely evening and enjoyed a great meal (upstairs
in their apartment as Laura is suffering with her back) of Pear and Havarti
cheese with Spanish Jambon-garlic chicken with roast pots & veg followed up
a lemon tart made by Jess.
