Got the bus into Nerja at about 2pm. We had just missed one so had typical Spanish eggs and ham in a cafe while watching the new King get sworn in. Arrived in beautiful Neja about 3pm and had 3 hours to kill before meeting up with Alan Hetty and their friend Teresa. Hetty has had her thyroid removed and has to take hormones. She refuses to take synthetic ones(had really bad side effects) and is much better on natural ones (as a huge amount of people seem to be) Problem being the pharmaceutical companies with all their money and power have a lot of influence on stopping the natural ones being made available. So much so that now they are not being aloud to be imported into Spain. So now Hetty had to find a doctor (in Nerja) to prescribe the natural ones so she can order on the net but has to have them delivered to Holland! Then she will have to go there or get someone to bring them in for her! Anyone who has seen the movie "Dallas buyers club " will understand this as its the same scenario ! Anyway, we walked all along the coast (part we hadn't been to before) and soaked in the atmosphere. Met up with the others at 6pm and enjoyed drinks followed by a great Italian meal in a restaurant that was perched on the edge of the cliff (sorry no photo!) while catching up on all their news since leaving the hotel 2 and a half weeks ago. It was good to see them again and they kindly dropped us off in Torre Del Mar as we had missed the last bus.
The King of Spain abdicates and his son is sworn in. Watched this on a TV while waiting for the bus to Nerja.
Arrived in Nerja - it is sooo beautiful here. There is a campsite but did not stay at this one as it is a long way from the beach and next to the motorway!
