3 Countries

Mon 24th Feb 2014

We made the most of this expensive campsite and all used the facilities (showers/toilets with lots of room) to get our monies worth. While Jess & I sorted out the Wi-Fi to publish the blog (this is not easy and very time consuming) David sorted out a couple of jobs on Priscilla. Left Ax De Thermes and headed for Andorra (a Principality) we went higher and higher into the mountains and the scenery got better and better. We went through a few tunnels and some were Toll (had to pay) the longest one being about 5kms. The roads had been cleared but the snow was about 3 meters high on either side and very windy!! Went through the border into Andorra and stopped for lunch and coffee in the MOST BEAUTIFUL town called Soldeu. The snow was all shiny and looked like a meringue. From the terrace of the restaurant we watched the skiers coming down the mountains - it was awesome. The clouds were like thin brush strokes and it was glorious sunshine 4.5 ˚. Then headed south towards Barcelona then East on some very small B roads towards L’Estartit. Some of these roads have been very scary and I am afraid I am just like my Pop and have been such a worry wart and have been stressing and a bit of a nervous wreck!!! What with the width of us and the narrow roads and steep drops my knuckles have been white! It’s as if I have been driving as well as David!!!!! He is very good though (thank God!) We crossed into Spain so today we have gone through 3 countries! France Andorra and Spain. So now Priscilla is not Le Camping-car she is now an Autocaravana!!!!! Managed to get as far as just outside OLot and decided to pull over as it had been a long drive on many windy roads. So we are on the side of the road for the night!!!!! Pies in the oven and a tin of beans for dinner tonight - was yum! Will be with Jane & Laura maƄana!!!! The scenery is still mountainous but woodland not snow.

WOW!!!
