Nanjizal Bay to Mousehole

Sat 1st Aug 2015
Another late start as we were enjoying the serenity of our wild camp location. Eventually set off and had a coffee and cake stop at Porthgwarra-where some of the current Poldark series was filmed before heading into Porthcurno with its open air theatre on the cliff edge. This is the location were the first telegraph cables came onshore from all over the world. It also has the most stunning beach with white sand and turquoise waters. Tried to find a campsite here off the track and got slightly lost! Ended up in the Logan Rock Inn in Treen. A couple of pints and pasties before deciding to get back on the path to find a wild camp for the night-showers can wait!!! Walked through the little fishing hamlet of Penberth Cove and onto St Loy. An amazing wooded enclave with just three lovely homes. The owner of one we met walking his dogs kindly told us of a camp spot just off the path in the woods. So tent up and a cuppa sitting on the large boulders at the waters edge chilling. Strange to be in woods again as we don't think we have been through any since North Devon.
Sun
Up early 6am! Makes a change. Chatted with the local again walking his dogs before setting out on quite a difficult walk to Lamorna Cove for breakfast- arrived at 8.45am and cafe didn't open till 10am-so much for getting up early! Continued on after breekie to Mousehole (pronounced in a Cornish accent) arriving around lunch time. Booked in at Tremayne B&B & cafe for 2 nights. £85 per night. Pricey but lucky to find something this time of year in this lovely location. Hot showers after 4 days!!!! And a day's rest!
