Lincolnshire York and Edinburgh Airport

Drove straight up to Spilsby near Lincolnshire to stay at White Lodge with Susan and Michael.

Had a lovely lunch together around the fire while they told us about the ghost in the house! David took a while to get to sleep that night waiting for someone or something to tap him on the shoulder!

In the evening Susan and Michael took us to The Blacksmiths Arms for a lovely meal.

Our beautiful bedroom and no ghosts appeared that night.

Can you see Jo?

They have owned the home for many years and have extended and renovated it gradually.

A short stay but great company and we were made very welcome.

Headed north over The Humber Bridge.

Arrived in York at our accommodation for the night.

Walked into town.

York Minster.

Very Christmassy and very cold.

Lots of quirky shops.

Decisions?

We were lucky enough to be there on a night when a school was singing and performing a Christmas carol service in York Minster. It was very special. So much to see here in York but not enough time so will have to return.

Angel of The North near Gateshead/Newcastle.

Had a coffee stop in the village of Alnwick.

Unfortunately the castle was closed for the winter. This castle is well know for the filming of some of the scenes in Harry Potter.

Alnwick Castle. Another place we will have to return to.

Arrived at Hampton Hilton at Edinburgh Airport and sorted our bags out ready for our flight in the morning to meet our Jess in Munich.

A slightly delayed Eurowings flight to Munich.
