Crop Circles and Thames Path Walk

Left Chippenham and drove to Avebury that we had seen before but we wanted to show Jess. The weather wasn’t the best but we had a good look around.

We then drove to the village of Pewsey to The Crop Circle Museum and Exhibition Centre. David was just a little bit excited.

We spent a couple of hours there and it was very interesting.

We then drove to our next accommodation-Burnham Beeches Hotel in Burnham for 3 nights. It was a bit of a contrast with our last accommodation on the M4!

We walked into the village of Burnham for a pub meal.

The next day we drove to Henley-on-Thames and walked 8 and a half miles to Marlow. All along The River Thames. What a walk it was - so varied and so so beautiful. One of my favourite walks so far!

The walk even took us through a deer park!

Arriving in Marlow. We got an Uber back to Henley-on-Thames as it was cheaper than the bus for the three of us! Had a lovely meal in The Catherine Wheel (Wetherspoons).

Yes - I am weeing!

The next day we drove to Maidenhead and walked again along The Thames to Windsor about 6 and a half miles.

We stood here singing and whistling as the echoing was fantastic!

Thought about hiring a boat but would end up like this if David was driving!!!

Arriving in Windsor-see the castle in the background.

Windsor was so very busy and full of tourists but then again it always is.

Packing up at Burnham Beeches-what a great stay.

We arrived back in Harpenden and had a lazy afternoon in the garden catching up with Liz. We then walked into town to get shopping for tonight’s meal.

Started a puzzle we bought for Liz!

Today we spent with Ali. This is when we took her niece‘s dog’s Marly and Boo to Hitchwood. Later we drove to Hitchin for dinner at Wetherspoons.

Jess’s last day. We walked into Harpenden then Jess made shortbread. Mike and Liz had lots of relations over for the afternoon so we spent most of the day in the garden as it was glorious weather.

Left Harpenden st 7.30am and headed for Heathrow but first had to have a breakfast in Hayes Wetherspoons!!! What a wonderful time we had with our Jess. We saw so much and even though we didn’t walk as much as we wanted to with her we saw plenty of things we weren’t expecting to see. Cannot wait to see her again in December when we meet in Munich Germany. Then to spend Christmas in Scotland with her. After saying our goodbyes we headed off back to Wales. Going to walk more of The Welsh Coast Path.
