Waking up above the clouds Monsanto - tues

Tues 19th Aug 2014
Woke this morning, stepped outside Priscilla with a cuppa and could not believe the sight that greeted us! We were above the white blanket of clouds that carpeted the whole valley with just the mountain tops poking through. Words and pictures just can't express these sort of experiences. After breakfast we filled up all our water bottles from the spring as we have been told it is very healthy. Then we walked up through the village, the ladies were busy doing their chores and were happy to chat, shame we couldn't talk too much. We found a very helpful tourist info office and headed up to the castle at the very top. We past very quaint houses that use the rocks as part I the structure and even some roofs were rock! Spent hours up there just exploring and admiring the views that went for miles. Gualdino Paes, from Sintra & Tomar, built this castle next. It has been another sacred site for centuries and apparently the "well", which we have photographed, with 2 intersecting arches, could possibly be another initiation well as 2 ley lines cross where these arches intersect. The stone "graves" in the photo are too shallow for burial, so could they be part of the raising of the dead initiation? Ok that's the Knights Templars in Portugal done - next we are off to see what they created in Beta Ghiorgis in Ethiopia!!!!!!
Back down from the castle and stopped for a beer to check the internet and got the great news that Jess (our daughter) has booked her flight! We are meeting her on the 1st Sept in Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Excited and are now counting down the days. Cooked a chicken stir fry and made use of the old mill  stone as a table outside Priscilla. Watched the glorious sunset with a glass of red. Leaving Monsanto in the morning.
