Our First Day Working

Mon 14th April 2014
Didn't sleep too bad in a strange bed. Very comfy and bigger than "the cloud" in Priscilla! Hetty and Alan had been working so hard over the last week trying to get everything ready before the first guests arrive (tues 15th) and Hetty suffers with a really bad back problem!!!! ( so David and her have many conversations!)So she spent the day in bed and we didn't see her until 6pm! We both started our first working day (in a while) at 10am. David began with mowing and strumming the inner courtyard while I cleaned and got ready 2 bedrooms. They took along time as they hadn't been used all winter and had a few cobwebs and dead gecko's in them! The rooms here are awesome and each one is named after a city in Spain. All have 4 poster beds an views forever. All the work we did previously at the hotel in Chagford (when in the UK) Came in very handy. Alan made us Dutch style eggs cheese and tomatoes on toast for lunch. David started working on the pool area and when I had finished the rooms I helped around that area weeding etc. David chilled out while he got the high pressure cleaner out and did all around the pool. We landed up doing 8 hours work but now we are On top of things we will do less hours. Alan and Hetty are a wonderful couple and Hetty cooked a pasta dish with salmon for dinner which was delicious. Hetty is also an artist and all her paintings are dotted around the hotel. I don't think we will do blog entry's everyday as it may be a bit boring for you (I may just post some pictures). Off to bed as the TV in our house can only get Dutch channels! Also, the internet doesn't reach as far as our house so can only go on when we are over at the hotel.
