Potes Thurs

Thurs 11th Sept 2014
Up and walked into the beautiful town of Potes. It was only about a 1km walk from the campsite. The whole town is busy getting ready for their annual Fiesta that starts tomorrow and lasts 4 days. Unfortunately we will miss it as we are leaving in the morning to drop Jess at Santander airport :( There were lovely shops and loads of restaurants. The town had a real Swiss Alp feel to it. We had a Menu del Dia for $11 each - 3 course bread and a bottle of wine. It was ok but not the best but we did have an awesome view. After buying new shoe laces, plunger, funnel, walking sticks and a fly swat! we got a taxi up to the monastery we could see above us from the campsite. There were lots of coaches visiting this site as wonderful views. Walked back down the hill about 2kms to the campsite and Jess booked her London accommodation for tomorrow night (she struggled to find somewhere!) We had a relaxed evening watching a series then reading.
