A day out with Nick in the Mini

Friday
Overslept this morning then Nick picked us up and took us to Luton Airport for a look around but it had completely changed since Jo worked there. We then headed for Bedford and called in at The Danish Camp in Willington http://www.danishcamp.co.uk/index.html it is owned and run by Roy Lee who worked with Nick & Jo at Luton Airport on Security, also there was another ex-colleague Pete Thompson. It is an old Viking site where they used to sail up The Ouse River. There were lots of animals including a European Eagle Owl named Ozzie they are the largest and most ferocious owls in the world. They are doing an extension and renovations on an old house on the site so this of course was of great interest.
We then drove out to Sharnbrook to visit Nick’s brother Steve who has Motor Neuron disease. He still has a great attitude and sense of humour as we remember. He was on the coach trip with us when we first met (The Price is Right).
From there we travelled via some gorgeous villages including Radwell Milton Ernest Broham and Turvey to Houghton Regis to meet up with Nick’s 2 daughters Lisa & Sarah and Lisa’s 3 gorgeous boys Jay Ben & Lee. Had a nice meal at The Chequeres Inn. It is a shame we are here as Sarah is heading for Australia in January. They were very excited to see us as they have never stopped talking about us since we left in 1988!

We are trying to have an early night tonight as we want to make an early start in the morning.
