Zarautz lunch and beach - Wed
Wed 17th Sept 2014
Woke up to a lovely sunny day and great views from Priscilla. After a late breakfast we followed the footpath and steps that led down from the campsite to the beach. We first stopped at an old mine(minerals?). On to the beach which is a popular surf spot and also we noticed lots men sunbathing naked! Sorry couldn't get any pictures! Great fun watching the surfers while having a beer - don't know how they do it. Walked further along the promenade to a restaurant that had been recommended called Kulixka and had a Menu del Dia. 14Euro each included a bottle of red wine bread dessert coffee water entree and main. It was delicious. Vegetable entrees - Aubergines zucchini Gorgonzola etc then for main bonito (fish) and I had the pork. Dessert was good too. Great views reminded us of Trigg Island cafe in Perth Australia. Very full when we left to walk along the beach where we sat a while and I had a swim (because I needed a wee!) Very steep walk back up to Priscilla where I then cut David's hair. Wish he could cut mine as it's getting desperate! Same as last night a thunderstorm came through which we watched again this time from the front window of Priscilla over the ocean.
