Harpenden - Sat

Sat 15th Nov 2014
Mike went out and got croissants for breakfast and Liz made a delicious roasted pumpkin soup for lunch. After all that food we needed a walk. We went through fields and woods and it was gorgeous but very muddy. We stopped at a farm shop / butchers and had THE BEST sausage rolls we have ever tried. We walked about 6miles and I couldn't believe that by four o'clock we were walking in the pitch dark!!! In the evening we met up with Susan and Michael, June and David who are my brother in law's (Roger) sisters and husbands. They very kindly treated us to a lovely meal at The Old Bell in Harpenden. It was so great to see them again and we had a brilliant evening. Susan and Michael had actually recently just spent a week at the hotel in Southern Spain - Puerto el Peral  that we had worked at for 3 and a half months and it was good to hear what a wonderful time they had had and how Alan and Hetty looked after them so well. They said it was magical place and they could understand why we stayed there so long.
