Packed up Priscilla and said goodbye to fellow campers. One Dutch couple were on their way to L'Estartit would you believe! So we told them to call in to see Jane to say hi from us. Very hot today but nice driving along with the windows down. We know it will be hot in Seville but we just have to see it. We went past vast areas of sunflower crops. As we drove towards Sevilla we could see it was huge! It was very busy with traffic too! We followed our directions from the Aires book and were very relieved to find the secure parking for motorhomes area. 20 mins walk into the heart of the city for 12 euro a night!!!! Awesome. Had a bite to eat before we walked into the city along the river. Found the tourist info office and then found a small bar to have a couple of beers while deciding what to do first. Spent the next 4 and a half hours in Real Alcazar Sevilla the royal palace of Sevilla. It was as good if not better than the Alhambra in Granada but not as high or with the same views. It also housed a museum of tile mosaics and ceramics. The hardens were vast and we actually ran out of time to take it all in! By this time we were very hot and worn out so walked back down to the river - the city has a feel of Brisbane or Melbourne but not the age. Found a floating bar and enjoyed 5 coronas for 10 euro! While watching boats/kayaks and canoes go by. Very hungry now so walked over to the other side of the river and found a plaza next to a church for meal. First ones there and by the end of the night it was packed with locals. No sign of tourists!!! Even the royal palace was quiet. Lots to see here so will probably stay another couple of nights despite the heat. Walked back to the Aires parking at midnight. And with a German couple called a security guard to let us in who then drove us to our motorhomes. Had a welcome cuppa tea and a shower. Fell into bed at 1am!!
