Along the Algarve - Mon

Mon 21st July 2014
Packed up camp and left Olhao by 10am. We headed west along the bottom but could not get right along the coast which was disappointing. Looks very much still like Spain but the roads are worse(they didn't get as much money from the EU as Spain did). Stopped at a big Aldi supermarket and stocked up again (always need beer wine vodka! And salad stuff of course!) we past Albufeira and Came over a big bridge by Portimao. Pulled off the N125 and drove down to see one of the beaches - Alvor. Very nice but packed! Lots of high rises under construction. Had lunch in Priscilla parked in the beach car park (no camping overnight) then headed further along the coast. Temperature today is 35 °. Drove past many garden centres and pottery places. Drove down to some lovely coves at Luz and Burga but no parking for Priscilla - too narrow. Onto a national park and found a spot for Priscilla - basic site but ok as we are self sufficient  in Zavial. The track here was a bit of a worry as you can see in the picture. Great views over the coast which reminds us a bit if south west coast of Australia. I stubbed my toe on a rock - bloody painful!! In the evening we had to put our fleeces on once the sun went down! As the wind that had been welcomed during the day field chilly tonight - was quite nice.  Off to bed early after good old sausage bacon egg and baked beans!
