Lisbon 2nd chance - sat

Sat  9th Aug
Was up and into Lisbon on the bus by 11am (with a load of French students from the campsite who kept us entertained with a dining game!) . Used one of our tickets from yesterday that included the 1 and a half hour tram tour. It was funny queuing for it as I had to take control as no one knew which end of the queue was the front or back!!! A few arguments but we sorted it!!!!! No photos of the tour as my phone decided to pack up! Which made me stress out just a little bit!!!!!! We saw more of the city which was very steep in places so glad we didn't walk it. It was busier today (Saturday) with more tourists and locals. The city does grow on you BUT it could be so much better! If money was spent on preserving the buildings and getting rid of so much graffiti. Of course a sign of Portugal being in a recession - but as someone pointed out, Portugal was the Rumanian/Albania of Europe up to a few years ago, and they never got the sort of money that Spain did from the EU. Had lunch and I managed to sort out my phone! Relief! Had good internet so that made up for the overpriced lunch so caught up on the blog that we could not do last night! David went off to see a two hour interactive story of Lisbon that he found very interesting while I just walked around the waterfront and main commercial square. We then walked and caught some buses around and along the waterfront and visited the Jeronimo Monastery- was amazing!!! Got the bus home from Belem to Priscilla on the city campsite and relaxed for the evening as we were very tired after the late night last night.
