Day
7 Hotel - Sun
20th April 2014 (Easter Sunday)
Up
early again to help with breakfast. I help prepare normally fruit, ham,
tomatoes, chesses, bread, croissants, jams, eggs and fresh juices. Today I set
the tables up in the dining room as it looked like rain (normally breakfast is
on the terrace). David felt a bit better and stayed at the house sweeping out
the back. A Spanish girl (Lourdes) comes to help sometimes and she cleaned the
rooms today. 2 lots checked out after breakfast and the reviews were fantastic.
There are not many pictures for me to post as David and I have been working
separately. The weather was very dull and a bit wet (which is natural for this
time of year - we have just been lucky) so I had a lazy afternoon reading my
book while David watched English soccer and formula 1 racing in the hotel
sitting room (the TV in our house doesn’t work very well and when it does it’s
in Dutch!) In the evening Alan lit the fire in the sitting room for the guests
as it really was chilly. Hetty prepared for dinner steak, mushrooms in cream
& brandy, French potatoes, broccoli and for dessert Dutch apple pie with
ice cream. David & I cleared up so Alan & Hetty could socialise with
the guests. Early night for us.
