Hotel Day 62 - Hello David & Fiona

Saturday 5th July 2014

Alan did breakfast this morning for the Dutch girls who are leaving today while Hetty and I drove to Malaga Airport to pick up David and Fiona (my old bosses from OZ) they arrived safely at 10am after an early start from Luton 3.30am! (uk where I was born) so there were very tired and also they have been on the go for 27 days doing a tour of Europe and it was full on all day so I think they will love there 3 days chilling out here. On the way back we did some shopping and called in to pick something up from Renee's house. She have David and Fiona a quick tour of her pretty house. When we arrived back they went straight to their room for some rest. It is really great to see them but seems surreal them being here. David & Alan finished the final touches on the terrace sun shade. Later we all had a bit of a catch up with news of Australia and of course about their wonderful tour. We enjoyed a very relaxing and peaceful dinner on the terrace. David and Fiona made the most of getting to bed early while the rest of us watch Holland vs Costa Rica in the World Cup .

Hotel day 61 - Fri

Fri 4th July 2014

Didn't want to get out of bed this morning for breakfast service as was such a late night and still worn out! David carried on painting "our house" and I got David & Fiona's bedroom ready (my old bosses from Australia) they arrive tomorrow for 3 nights to end their big European Tour. Really looking forward to seeing them again. David carried on painting "our house" and it was very hot today so after he had a nice swim . In the evening we have guests Astrid & MC a tour of "our house" and Priscilla. They leave tomorrow for 4 days on the beach in Malaga before flying home to Holland. A really lovely couple.

Hotel day 60 -Thurs shopping

Thurs 3rd July 2014

After cleaning and breakfast service Hetty and her friend Renee and myself were going shopping for the day to a huge shopping centre near Marbella. Alan was supposed to drop us off near Renee's place as she was driving us there but there was another "water business" problem! the water authority keep coming and turning the hotels' water off as they say there is a leak (there isn't!) It's just so they can get more money out off you - they said Alan & Hetty will get an extra bill of about 10 thousand euro! So David dropped us off as Alan had to stay and "sort" them out! David said it feels funny with the gear stick on the wrong side! 

Renne drives quite fast and it still took us over an hour to get to this shopping centre that has big sales on at the moment.

We went in Habitat as Renee was looking for new outdoor furniture

I wanted a new pair of shoes - hundreds of them and came home with none!

There was even a M&S there! 

Renee & Hetty outside a very interesting shop - it was a surf shop - huge plasma screens showing surfing in USA it was also very dark in there! Strange.

Renee got 2 pairs of shoes and in this shop she got a new watch and very nearly bought a pair of diamond earrings! 

Hetty & I trying on more clothes! Getting fed up now as it was now 8pm!

We then had to get a few things in the supermarket - by now it was 9,30pm!

Driving back it started to get dark now so we decided to pull off the toll motorway and find somewhere to eat. Found a nice restaurant that Hetty had been to before (had past it so had to go a long way then turn around and come back to it!) only to find out that the Kichen had closed at 10pm (it was now 10.15pm!) so off we went again and found an Italian restaurant in Mijas Costa. 

In the Italian restaurant in Mijas Costa - had our meal at 11pm!!!!!! We were soooo tied after shopping all day.

On the way home the fuel gauge started flashing but we were lucky to find a 24hr station open on the motorway. Headed up into the mountains and Renee dropped us off at 1.30am!!!!!!!!!!! Knackered!!!!!! but had a great day.

About 3pm David & I found a new walk track. Not too hot today as there was a nice breeze. We walked for about one & half  hours then had a lovely swim (naked!) in "our pool"

For dinner we had a smoked salmon salad

Gambas (prawns) done in the oven with loads of garlic.

We ate on the terrace with the guests. The Dutch girls had been to Priego De Cordoba for the day and the other Dutch couple had been to Ronda for the day. 

Hotel day 58 - Tues

Tues 1st July 2014

This times 8 - four rooms occupied at the moment which is good for Alan & Hetty - bookings slowly coming in. 

Always lots to do in the kitchen. David painting "Our House" white of course. They may have a booking for our house for 2 weeks soon which is great for them. We will move into one of the lovely courtyard rooms if they do. The Belgium couple with the 2 girls left this morning and wrote a very good review in the guest book. Cannot believe it's 7 months ago tomorrow that we left home!!!!!!!!!

The view this evening was great with the sunset.

Had dinner with the guests again on the terrace. Egg & asparagus entree followed by Rosada with fennel risotto - was delicious. 

Hotel Day 57 - Mon

Mon 30th June 2014

6 for breakfast this morning then one lot of guests went off to Malaga for the day and the others to Granada for the day. After cleaning rooms I did some Blogging then relaxed as was very tired from the late night. David started painting the whole of the outside of "our house". More guests arriving later today (Another Dutch couple). Had our dinner on the terrace with the guests. Still seems strange eating at 9.30pm!!! Just finished now and it's 11.15pm!!! Bed on a full stomach! Not good.

Hotel Day 55 - Sat

Sat 28th June 2014

After breakfast service the Dutch couple went off for the day in their hire car to explore the area. David and Alan went off to Malaga to do some shopping while I took the rest of the day off and relaxed around the pool. I got bitten on my finger by a wasp! It really hurt. I had to take my grandmothers wedding ring off before my finger swelled up. Was not happy as I have never taken it off since my mother put it on my finger the day my grandmother (Irene) passed away! What is it with rings these past two days ??!!

David was exhausted after shopping with Alan in Malaga - they had to go to 5 different shops! and on a Saturday everywhere was very busy.

At about 7pm new guests arrived from Belgium - 2  rooms (mother & father in one and their 2 girls in another). We watched the World Cup - Brazil vs Chile.

When we walked back to "our house" look what we found! Very rare to see here in Spain.
